Gray pipe joint compound is formulated to lubricate and seal threaded connections. Gray, non-hardening paste won’t separate. Gray pipe joint compound can be used on metal threads and is effective on lines carrying water, air or steam. Pipe joint compound can withstand up to 3, 000 PSI on gases from -50 oF to 400o F and 10, 000 PSI on liquids from -50o F to 500o F.
