The furnace gas valve controls the flow of propane to the burner, dependent on signals from the control board. Starting and stopping the flow of gas to the burner by a 12V DC signal. the dual solenoid design gives secondary protection against gas leaking through the valve seals. there are two valves doing the same task, so there is always a backup valve to provide the needed protection.
